card sketch @sid

Hey crafty friends!!

Today I am here to share a card sketch with you from the Stick It Down Challenge Blog.
Stick It Down is a monthly sketch challenge blog. They provide sketches not only for a card once a month, but also for double and single page layouts! Cool right?? The sketches are normally posted on the first of the month with reveals of the design team's interpretations throughout the month.
Today the card team designers are showcasing their inspiration of what they created for this month's card sketch.
Here is a look at the second card sketch for August courtesy of Laura:
Here is the card that I created based on the sketch

I applied teal & yellow metallic gelatos randomly over my A2 white card panel and sprinled some water and rubbed with fingers to get  water washed background. Over it i stenciled with honeycomb stencil & watercolours. I stamped out the the altenew wild hisbiscus over a newspaper and fussy cut and adhered to the watercoloured panel. Stamped the sentiment directly on the card pane. I finishes my card with sequins embellishment. Hope it inspired you.

You have until the end of the month to link up with any of our sketches. One winner from each sketch will be invited back to guest design with us in October. One random participant in any of our August sketches, we have a little prize package to help you scrapbook your summer memories!
Sorry, US residents only
Each sketch you participate in this month will earn you one entry into the random drawing. So if you join in all three of our August sketches, that's three chances to win! One random winner will be selected at the end of the month.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and take a look at my latest creation!

Don't forget to swing by the Stick It Down Challenge blog and take a look at what my talented DT friends made with the sketch. I would love to see what you create!

Have a great crafty day!!

  1. What a lovely gelato background! The stencilling over top looks great. Good to hear about the SID challenge as I'd not come across it before. Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players.

  2. Shylaa, I admire how you created your beautiful and interesting background, but equally impressed that you stamped the flowers on plain old newspaper. So clever! Thanks so much for joining us this week at The Paper Players!
