Quilled Wedding Keepsakes

Dear Friends,

Marriage is a turning point in each one life from where you are stepping into a new life, new love, new relations and of course the new you.

Wedding keepsakes will be good gift for the couples to remember their joyous moments.

In Hindu religion, a ritual named Sapthapadi - Which i love the most. The Vows taken by both bridegroom and bride. Most of us doesn't know the meaning, we blindly obey the Poojari's words.

Here are the seven vows of the Hindu Marriage

Let us take the first step to provide for our household
a nourishing and pure diet, avoiding those foods injurious to healthy living.

Let us take the second step to develop physical, mental and spiritual powers.

Let us take the third step to increase our wealth
by righteous means and proper use.

Let us take the fourth step to acquire knowledge,
happiness and harmony by mutual love and trust.

Let us take the fifth step, so that we be blessed
with strong, virtuous and heroic children.

Let us take the sixth step for self-restraint and longevity.
Finally, let us take the seventh step and be true companions
and remain lifelong partners by this wedlock."

We have taken the Seven Steps. You have become mine forever.
Yes, we have become partners. I have become yours.

Made a Simple design to give importance to the wordings. Quilled manadala to give peace and mirror to commit themselves to the vows. Knowing the meaning of sapthapadi will increase the bond between the couples.

Quilled Lotus

Dear friends,

Indian Quilling Challenge group is set with new challenge and the new crew today. The challenge we set for the month is Anything goes with pink in it.

My Inspiration is a quilled lotus - my longing desire to do this art has come true.

Lotus - the national flower of India. Emerges from muddy waters but un-spoilt and pure. It is considered to represent a wise and spiritually enlightened quality in a person. The unopened bud is representative of a folded soul that has the ability to unfold and open itself up to the divine truth.

Lotus represents eternity, purity, divinity, and is widely used as a symbol of life, fertility,ever-renewing youth. It is a symbol of awakening to the spiritual reality of life.

I really enjoyed peace while doing this artwork.

Submit your entries to the challenge blog.
